Patient Notes

This patient is 54 years old and she weighs 105lbs. She is 5'4". The site of the cancer was the left breast. The type of cancer was invasive. Chemotherapy was performed in conjunction with the reconstruction. The nodal status was 0 of 1. The tumor was stage IIIA. The breast was reconstructed immediately after mastectomy. The autogeneous tissue used was latisimus dorsi with expander. An implant with an expander was used.

Breast Reconstruction 02

Patient Notes

This patient is 49 years old and she weighs 173lbs. She is 5'5". The site of the cancer was the left breast. The type of cancer was invasive. Chemotherapy was performed in conjunction with the reconstruction. The nodal status was 0 of 12. The tumor was stage I. The breast reconstruction was delayed post mastectomy. The autogeneous tissue used was latisimus dorsi with expander. The preoperative bra size was 38DD. An implant with an expander was used.

Breast Reconstruction 03

Patient Notes

This patient is 55 years old. She is 5’3” tall and weighs 121 lbs. The site of the cancer was right and left breasts. The type of cancer in the left breast was invasive and the type of cancer in the right breast was not invasive. Breast reconstructions were delayed post mastectomies. The autologous tissue used was latissimus dorsi with placement of tissue expanders.  Three months post operatively, the patient underwent removal of the tissue expanders and placement of silicone breast implants.

Bilateral nipple reconstructions were done using local skin flaps within the latissimus dorsi skin islands. Nipple/areolar reconstructions were done 3 months after breast creation. These photos were taken 2 years and 7 months post operatively.

This patient is 41 years old.  She is 5’3” tall and weighs 120 lbs. The site of the cancer was left breast . The type of cancer in the left breast was invasive.  Left breast reconstruction was delayed post mastectomy.  The patient underwent chemotherapy and radiation therapy.  The autologous tissue used was abdominal muscle flap.  Left nipple reconstruction was done using local skin flap.  Left nipple reconstruction was done 9 months after breast creation.  Left nipple/areola tattooing was done one year after breast creation.   After photos were taken 1 year following final procedure of nipple/areola tattooing.

Breast Reconstruction 06

Patient Notes

This patient is 45 years old.  She is 5’3” tall and weighs 220 lbs.  The site of the cancer was right breast.  The type of cancer in the right breast was invasive.  The patient decided to have left mastectomy as well due to a strong family history of breast cancer.  Breast reconstructions were done immediately following mastectomies.  The autologous tissue used was latissimus dorsi with placement of tissue expanders.  Seven months postoperatively,the patient underwent removal of the tissue expanders and placement of saline breast implants. Bilateral nipple reconstructions were done using local skin flaps within the latissimus dorsi skin islands.  Nipple/areolar reconstructions were done 10 months after breast creation.  Bilateral nipple/areolar tattooing was done 4 months following nipple creation.  These photos were taken 6 months post operatively.
